@Nomoreidsleft You are even more clueless than this guy is... He needs training, and that's it. You need a much better understanding of what is and isn't important and what are and aren't valid worries with respect to aircraft. The Birdman, given that it is an ultralight, is actually a safer and more innovative design than most. It gives more protection, and it is more efficient since it generally uses smaller engines than many other ultralights. Cockpits are for comfort, not really protection.

Oh, I feel sorry for you wife. After seeing the crash video, I'm sad. If you're going to kill yourself, don't make her film it.
All this is really for nothing. There's nothing innovative about the design other than that it's cockpitless. There's a reason why airplanes have cockpits, it protects the pilot, and holds essential avionics, and control.
If you're going to persist in this, at least leave some contact information for your wife, so that I may ask send condolences, when you pass.
