Cary Williams-Nunez and Angelo Nunez of Prime Time Boxing teach you how to slip punches in boxing. The punch combination on the heavybag includes slip, slip, straight right, left hook, straight right. This is a small sample of what members are taken through and what trainers will learn with the Prime Time Boxing certification.

  • is this a dance routine ?

  • @TheOriginalBillyYO Why "yes" it is and if there's anything that's the most essential in learning this sport it's "rhythm." Real boxing and real structure is based off a balance of fundamentals that require rhythmic movements. It's call the "boxers waltz" and that's the movement in and around the inside of the ring. All style baby and no fluff....

  • All of our gyms are in California, but we are going to start offering a certification program January of 2011.

  • @ptboxing ahaha alrght then :D

  • @ptboxing So you shouldn't turn your punches over when you throw A hook 1:03 ? Btw I just saw your fight with Oscar De La Hoya !! I sure as hell wouldn't want to fight a De La Hoya in his prime !!! You gave A great effort though . I could only imagine what those left hooks must of felt like !!!!

  • @MushiXD Dont get scared of the punches coming and loose the "gun shy" blinking reflex you get when you see a punch coming and you stay relaxed, youll be able to slip. Just keep on trying it in sparring. James Toney (one of the best defensive boxers) said that he would get shitkicked in the gym for trying the defensive stuff the old timers used to do but he kept going and kept trying and one day it all clicked. Also never return back to the original position after slipping, makes for an easy KO.

  • Nice, i put the volume up and did this standing up. But i can preform slips perfecly when im in practice, but i cant slip while im sparring.
