  • I am really considering this 1200 conversion. I saw the improvement of torque and hp. It's something simular I am looking for.

The only thing I'd prefer is a two in one exhaust. Now I was wondering what effect the conversion has on the mpg issue ? Can you give some figures please ?

    Thanks in advance !

  • @frenzyfury1: If I remember correctly, I used to be able to go 100 miles before my gas warning light came on (the original 883). Now I can go about 80 miles before that light comes on. In addition, I don't drive it hard. I did the covershion after the first 1,000 miles.

  • Damn thats loud. Bet your neighbors love you. Thinkin about gettin an Iron this spring and puttin the 1200 kit on it. I would just get a Nightster but the Iron looks better. How do you like it? Any issues?

  • @MrJtr1888 I agee about the iron looking better, but I still wanted the power of the 1200. The stage one coversion is not a stock 1200. Reagarding the noise level: If they can't see you they will be able to hear you. It is a hard thing to judge but I had a very quite Suzuki and it just seems like I was constantly being cut off by drivers that did not see me. This has not happened as much with my Harley. No issues, great bike!!!!

  • @betty254 I don't know, what is the greater waste of time? To upgrade a motorcycle you like to the power and style you prefer. Or to get on youtube and post comments that add no value. Just a thought.

  • Hello, i also have an 883 and considering the conversion. Did you do this yourself, or have harley do it? new Jugs or did you bore out your existing ones? Price if you don't mind?

  • loud pipes save lives

  • Nice bike!

  • you ride like you just had your nails done... open her up a bit there buddy

  • Why do the Harley haters post on Harley sights. Dudes go post on rice burner pages. As for the post, I ride an iron, I'm 6'2 and it fits me fine with forward controls. A nightster cost over two grand more, and I can get a big bore kit for 600. You do the math. Ride safe my friends.

  • is this houston texas?

  • @themaxrider Those dyno numbers are for the Rocket III Roadster and match Triumph's crank claims somewhat well (146hp and 163ft*lbs). Even in the realm of sportbikes, the only ones that meet your requirement are hyperbikes: ZX-14 and Hayabusa, liter bikes don't hit the 100ft*lbs barrier. As far as sport touring bikes go, I don't know of any that meet it. The BMW K1600GT dynos@137hp and 114ft*lbs and I can't think of a more powerful sport tourer right now. You're right that they're really fast.

  • @UCMolosser You aren't looking at the Rocket III Roadster. But no matter as I ride large bore sportbikes if you want to know. I used to ride cruisers but I found that the sport touring bikes are much more comfy and go like hell with NO mods whatsoever. I have nearly 70K on mine, and can tell you it took a battery so far and sparkplugs and tires. I don't get the facination with the harley bikes as there are so many other brands that are SO much better in every aspect! Test ride stuff

  • @themaxrider I have never ridden a Rocket III, but I know a bit about them and guessed that you'd mention it. 114hp and 139 ft*lbs at the wheel (w/ small variance from dyno to dyno). So even the 2.3 liter monster doesn't have 150+hp and 100+ft*lbs. The Harley V-Rod produces almost exactly the same hp, though much less torque, of course. I agree with you about excessively loud exhausts: they're disgusting. Also, I was wrong about the B-King: it doesn't quite hit the 100 ft*lbs mark @ ~93 ft*lbs.
