The manufacturer's spec says 100 ft (33yds) to 400 ft (133 yds) of range for something like a cat, dependent on what's in the way. If the cat is up a tree, you might get 600 ft (200 yds) ;)
Yeah, you need to reshoot with some nightvision gear, or just shoot during the day (if the cat is in hiding it won't make much difference, but we'll get to see what you're doing at least).

Yeah these loc8tors really work well. Definitely worth getting, it makes it real easy to find cats with the tags on their collars - saved us a ton of time trying to find ours!

This device only works up to 50 yards on open ground and 25 yards in scrub areas, don;t rely on it to find your pet. If you want to find your pet at night, then buy a luminous collar!

Too bad you didn't have a Sony NightShot camera. It would have been much more "enlightening"...

It would have been nice to shoot it with nightvision. It was all shot with my wife's Nikon S5 digital Camera. It does 640x480 @ 30fps.
