@ktcal8 "Arbeit Macht Frei" was the inscription above the gates of Auschwitz. It was a cruel lie meaning "work makes you free." Carcass warped the saying into meaning "work makes flesh." Glad to help ya bro! :D

@ktcal8 Arbeit macht frei was the sentence which was to read at the gates of many concentration camps in germany in the third reich. it means "work makes (you) free". in this case, carcass' title for the song is a pun and it would be translated as "work makes flesh"

the man who would be flesh? I think i am missinterperateing it... Arbeit macht is like a title for the next in line for the thrown... does anyone know what it's supposed to mean?

@MrGoth75 it was actually Bill steer who came up with the drum beat for corporal, but i agree Ken Owen was a genius when he was behind the kit, such a shame what the guy went through
