Unwanted fishing methods and the responsibility of the consumer

Although National and Community legislation defines the minimum fishable size for each different species, these checks are never undertaken by either the port authorities or the Fishing Department. This practice results in caught fish not having yet reached reproductive maturity; inevitably leading to a significant reduction in fish stocks.
