The fisheries department has moved to engage land owners at Vide Boutielle on the proper procedure for land development which affects mangroves. On Friday a call was up into HTS news by a concerned teacher at the adjacent Castries comprehensive school.
When contacted, the fisheries department informed that they had no knowledge of the development but that they would investigate. Deputy Chief Fisheries officer, Sarah George, says as promised the situation was assessed by both fisheries and crown lands and that resolve with the relevant party is being pursued.
