Hang Drum http://www.hangdrum-music.com Mark Roach panart parihaka peace festival , (the alternative percussion hang means hand in the bernese language, similar to a steel drum )Even though it seems to be commonly known as a hang drum and using a drumming technique its true name is just hang or hang-hang . Hang drum is really only refered to more for ease of finding and has in NO-WAY any relation to its original name of Hang or hanghang or any association with drums or drumming (to some extent).

As far as the original makers go (felix and Sabina) they are only able to make 2 a day, these are all hand tunes and is very labour intensive, normally they make 2 a day over a 3-4 month period and spend the rest of the year r&d, however this year they have decided to take a year out for a breather , so with the popularity of the instrument being so high you can understand that only a few can be made, you cant rush perfection! :)
dont listen to that guy. it was repetitive, sure, but the various speeds and small change ups make the difference. are there better SOUNDING drum videos on here? id say maybe, BUT none of the people who play them actually PLAY as well as this video. get the point im trying yo make?
Thanks uncharted for your comment, i would like to however illiterate that when this video was recorded i had only been playing two weeks with no prior experiance with any other instrument. I was still learning to understand the instrument at this time and was experimenting certain rythms, I had only just woken up ten minutes earlier also, if you want Bach please type in bach in the search engine. I played, it was recorded, it was uploaded.
Just stopping by (again) to listen to the tune. :) I looked on ebay a while back and found one...it sold for $4,801.72 USD. Still way out of my price range. Mark is a very lucky man to have one and the talent to play it!
