This is a video taken at the Spirit of the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary on 8/25/2009. The lion is trying to assert his dominance over someone in our group, we think my husband Aaron and it is amazing what they sound like up close and personal. The tour guide told us that this is very rare to see there and I wanted to share it with all of you! Please visit their website at www.spiritofthehillssanctuary.org, they are a completely non-profit sanctuary that relies souly on tour fees and donations. They also spay and neuter all of the animals, as they do not believe in breeding more animals to live in captivity. They take in these animals from all over, and rescue them to give them a better life. I would recommend this stop to anyone, of any age that is in the area or on their way through!!!

  • This is an awesome place. We adopted our two dogs from the sanctuary and we were so impressed with how much the staff care about all of the animals at the sanctuary. Our kids loved seeing the wide variety of animals from wolves to tigers, lions and ostriches and more.

  • Thank you for supporting this video!! I put it on here to get their name out to the public and I am glad other people have enjoyed their experience there!

  • @Drreviewman it's actually Simba

  • @Nirarekdan I like my way better. But whatever I guess, you do have a point.

  • @Drreviewman No kidding, all pplz should be eaten up by teh lions 8V

Like yourself. I feel obligated to correct you- you seem to have misunderstood my meaning. I merely meant that in this case it was sad, because these animals were sold/kept by people who thought they were cute pets until they got big and started eating people. I support breeding for well-kept zoos, not for untrained families who'll keep them in their living rooms and backyards.

  • @Nirarekdan Oh your right, if the lion dies or stays in captivity there wont be enough. We should release them and let them go on rampant killing sprees. We've got 5billion more people then we neeb anyways!!!

  • I've actually been there. Which lion is that? I think that 1s hercules and stinky is the 1 with a dog in his cage. This place is sorta like a high security zoo, if they didn't take these animals in they'd be put down. Admission is 7$ but you need to show up at a certain time to tour the place. I support this video.

  • I was lucky enough to go there twice, once with the Job Corps group since my parents work there, and we were able to get right up against the fence. The big cats were just fabulous.

With myself, mom, and sister, we were lucky enough to get a more in-depth tour where we got to help take care of a couple of the smaller animals- bottle fed lion and tiger cubs, and I got to hold a baby leopard. Loved the experience, but felt bad that anyone would put these guys in cages (original owners/breeders).
