Come see the Colorado Shakespeare Festival's production of Woody Guthrie's American Song June 28 through August 14, 2008, in the University Theater at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
We had the called-for five, plus a group of musicians on mandolin, guitar, fiddle. It was spectacular and very well received--got a 5-star review from the Denver Post. If you'd like to see performance photos, I could e-mail them to you. Let me know.
I hope your show went well, just wanted to say Ramapo College of New Jersey's production of American Song will go up in April. It's nice to see another venue appreciating Guthrie's words and music!
We've created a sort of chorus, with different people taking little roles like saloon singer and Cripple Whitey and three men playing the Woody characters throughout -- did your production have the called-for five, or did you expand the cast?
