DOCTORS WHO RECOMMEND CIGARETTES.
Big Tobacco is facing a class-action lawsuit from smokers who bought so-called light and mild brands of cigarettes and want their money back. They argue the levels of tar and nicotine listed on Imperial's packages did not reflect the actual toxic emissions from the cigarettes and that the smoke produced from them was just as harmful as regular cigarettes.
In other cases, governments want tobacco companies to pay for the health-care costs associated with smoking-related illnesses. Some have passed legislation, to try to hold tobacco companies accountable for health-care costs. It has been argue that by 1950, the companies knew or ought to have known that cigarettes were hazardous to health and that they failed to warn the public about the health risks of their products.
(1940'S) CIGARETTE ADVERTISING DECEPTION has been especially controversial since the early 1950s, reflecting known health risks associated with smoking and the belief that advertising is a causal factor in smoking behaviors. Warning labels on cigarette packages were first proposed in 1955, following new health reports by the American Cancer Society, the British Medical Research Council, and Reader's Digest (1952). Regulation of cigarette advertising and marketing, especially by the FTC, increased over the years to include content restrictions (1942, 1950-52); advertising guidelines (1955, 1960, 1966); package warning labels (1965, 1970, 1984); product testing and labeling (1967, 1970); public reporting on advertising trends (1964, 1967, 1981); warning messages in advertisements (1970); and advertising bans.

@TheGREATEST95 Hello Greatest the intent of the video was to illuminate the long term fraud perpetrated by Tobacco companies. The facts are irrefutable and well documented. You, ironically, are completely ill informed when you claim "everybody" knew and knows the risk of smoking. Further, few were aware of the concerted efforts by big Tobacco to suppress the research that revealed the true nature of the risks posed by smoking. Are you suggesting that only liberals are interested in the facts?
