How has Janet had a bigger impact on Pop Music?? On every list, ranging from VH1's (where Madonna was the top ranked female and Janet wasn't on the list) and Time Most Influental List (Madonna was the only female singer listed)....so how is it that Janet is MORE influental?

Also, every pop star from Britney, Christina, Gaga, Katy Perry, etc...have alll listed Madonna as the reason they are doing what they are doing. Lastly, Madonna sells out STADIUM-- telling me thats as big as it gets.

@ThePopLover2 Also, Madonna's last album Hard Candy debut at #1 in 37 countries--which is another resason she's the TOP SELLING FEMALE. Janet's Discipline didn't debut at #1 in any country. What does that tell you???? So Janet's had such an impact no one buys her record. LMAO.

Also, Madonna's the TOP TOURING ARTIST in HISTORY Because of the ATTENDANCE not the dollar amount. Madonna's Tour played to over 3.5 million people around the globe-Janet doesn't even compete there. Sorry but its true!

The funniest thing is every star you mentioned plus many more have said Janet had an impact on them. Madonna is ranked above Michael Jackson in some of them you mentioned, you can compare her to Janet, but there is no way in HELL she is anywhere near as influential as Michael and she ranked above him, it means nothing its all a popularity contest, her latest leak just shows how unoriginal Madge is

@PrincessB755 Janet DOES NOT have 36 number ones. Thats a combination of number ones from the US, the UK, Australia etc and it mixes in dance number ones too. IF you were to take ALL of Madonna's number ones from the same charts, the number would be over 100! Just betweeen the UK and US Hot 100 Charts Madonna has 26 number ones, then you throw in the 37 dance number 1s she has in the US only thats already close to 60 number ones.

Janets albums and tour sales don't come close to Madonna!
