The risks of wearing colored contact lenses

In the past year, the National Eye Centre had treated more than 200 cases of eye infection due to improper use of contact lenses. Some of these patients had worn lenses that were bought from blogshops. The Ministry of Health had warned unlicensed blogshops to stop selling them and the punishment for violating the Optometrists and Opticians Act is a fine of up to $25,000, or a jail term of up to six months or both. Repeated offenders face fines of up to $5,000, a jail term of up to 12 months, or both. What are the risks of buying contact lenses online? How do we ensure that our pair of lenses are suitable?
