Yeah, those kits suck. But they are beginner kits. Not electric muscle car conversion kits. Now that would be cool, if someone made a Mazda rx7 FD electric muscle conversion kit.

True, never saw it as a project..

I was refering to the people who make backyard conversion kits.

Who grab a lot of lead acid battery's, and hook it upto an electric motor.

I agree with the swap battery system. Also the Better Place pay per mile or month program.

If people want to convert their car to electric, it is not stupid. Some people like doing that for fun. Like building a hot rod or something.

I know its not that slow to recharge, but im saying the DIY ones are horrid..People simply dont have the research and money to develope a good system.

Tesla steped out on a limb here, and are holding up quite well :)
