Amazing....
To fix a frequency problem Pocket Wizard decide to wrap a Flashdom on it...
Let's try to put a band-aid (Flashdom) on the issue rather than admitting that they have made an error.
The responsible action would be to fix the error by recalling all of the faulty products and either replacing them or repairing the faulty product.
If a motor vehicle had faulty brakes and was risking a persons life, would you simply add another air bag to solve the problem??
Thanks.

Thanks for the info, but Mark this really is disappointing. Do we have to buy these after purchasing the already expensive Mini and TT5?
I agree with the previous post, as they should have sorted this out before the product was released. I have been having many issues with them at events and weddings, only preflash firing and sometime no connectivity at all.
I really hope they give them out for free.
If not what is the expected cost Mark?
Thanks again for the info and update.

@BigPreme74 I understand your comment but why PW Plus II users never reported issues with 580 EXII. I have 580 EXII an FlexTT5 and never works well. Probably PW should have considered this problems during their tests

is this only for the 580EXII ?

Very interesting. But what about for the pocket wizard attached to the camera. For instance, I would be taking photos in a room in which we have simultaneous translation equipment in use, whereby I'd be concerned about causing interference and receiving same from there. The shield fits over a flash, but what about "over the camera"?

Wel this was my first pocket wizard ever, had nothing but problems with it from day one, thinking it was MY fault-- then realized its just an over priced rip off that was released way before it should have been to the public. Now I have to spend $30 on a sock because I didn't see the "free sock" before April?
Selling these and switching to Radio Poppers. Your videos are all a lie. Destroyed Pocket Wizard's reputation.

Wouldn't the sock add to the over heating of the batteries in manual 1/1 or period? I can't see how it wouldn't.

I have one question was the 580exII RF signal interfering with the previous pocket wizard model? I haven't heard or read about any RF issues with the older style pocket wizard. So if there wasn't an issue with the previous model then the problem will have to be the pocket wizard TT5 not the 580exII.

AC5 Sock with opening to us a external battery pack ?
I hope Pockwizard remembers when you make the AC5 Socks you add an opening where photographers can plug in their external battery packs.
Hopfully that was thought of.

Yes, you can plug in an external battery pack. It works just fine.

is it made out of a special cloth or so?

Yes, it's made out of special cloth. Normal material won't work.
