Cuba's food challenge

State officials been offering farmers a series of stimulus packages that include land and agricultural equipment, in hopes of upping food prodcution.

Under these reforms, farmers are now allowed to sell their products directly to hotels, without the state middleman.

Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo talks to farmers to see how the program is working.

@GodOfTheInternets Thats the whole point of Communism: To end "exploitation", which is defined as one person (capitalist) making profit off of the work of others (working class). Profit according to them is 'money withheld from the laborer'; one guy makes money only cuz another was denied his fair share.

Thats why in communism, if u sit on ur ass all day playing videogames, u aint getting paid by nobody. People are free to do work, and then get rewarded for that work. This is all 'democratic'.

Only some Anarchists believe money should be abolished, but NO communist believes that. People get paid/rewarded in proportion to their work contributed, with the exception of the retired/disabled whom are taken cared of.

@revolution4freedom1 Yes, I think Bakunin flagged that up before anyone, and was the cause of the "civil war within the Spanish civil war." To me it is absurd to refer to oneself as a "Marxist" or an "ist" of any sort. It's at that point an economic theory becomes a religious belief. A reasonable person should be able to read Marx without being a "Marxist," or interpret any of the Enlightenment philosophers without filtering it through the lens of cognitive bias.

@jasondelauro Marxist-Leninism is inherently an Authoritarian ideology, compared to pure Marxism which is Libertarian. I think this is what Anarchists get but Communists never want to admit.The excuse that the vanguard party should lead govt, not just the revolution,is why "statist socialism" becomes a new fascism.

In case of China,its akin to Corporatism (fascism proper), and with N.Korea its akin to National Socialism."Juche" being the racial element & "Songon" being the Military 1st doctrin.
