Linkesh Diwan and Chaitanya Kumar singing "I wish I was Bolivian" to Bolivian President Evo Morales, at the UNFCCC COP-15 in December, 2009.

Youth were excited that Bolivia had made one of the most progressive proposals, including limiting global temperature rise to 1 deg celsius, atmospheric CO2 to 300ppm, and reducing developed countries emissions 100% by 2040.

  • Interesting. We made this song in recognition of the strong commitment to our Mother Earth, shown by the Bolivian proposal, to limit atmospheric CO2 to 300PPM (Current average is 387ppm, Safe limit is 350ppm), to limit global temperature rise to only 1 degree Centigrade (current average global temperature rise since start of industrial revolution is 0.8 deg C), and to ensure 100% reduction on 1990 levels by industrialised countries by 2040. This is a bold, and much needed, move.
