Sweethearts On Parade - Frank Guarente and His Orchestra on Diva 2787-G (Columbia records private label for the W.T. Grant dime store chain) Even though it was recorded in late 1928 or early 1929, this is still an acoustic recording - among the last before Columbia began electrically recording budget labels as well. The song was composed by and is usually associated with the Guy Lombardo Orchestra but was later recorded by many others including Louis Armstrong.

  • Yes, they're the best. Here in the US, Recoton, Fidelitone, Duotone, RCA Red Seal (their premium) and Miller all sold Laubscher needles. Laubscher even had a US company, Meritone. As for the record, it isn't a very jazzy selection, but you can hear Guarente's style and legato phrasing. His influence on Bix seems more than plausible. Thanks for watching!
