  • This is double pleating.

  • How much fabric do you need for the tutu? And does it have to have a pattern or is the skirt just a long rectangle which you pleat at the waist? And do you need wire hoops to keep up the shape?

  • @BerthaJokins For a romantic tutu you can just use a long rectangle and gather it at the waist. The pleating shown here is for a classical tutu, which stands out from the hip. A wire hoop is not necessary, if you use enough netting and cut the layers correctly. A hoop does help keep the tutu's shape in the long run.

  • @variationstutus , what is your website?

  • @Balletdancer980 I don't think I'm allowed to post my website, but I'm not hard to find. Just search for variations tutus.

  • do you have any other tutorials or a website I can look at?

  • I don't have any other tutorials, but I do have a website.

  • Is this the double-pleating way or the single pleating way?

  • Thank you!
