This is a Star Trek Mark X Medical Tricorder with hand scanner. This was just completed by me. The entire Tricorder was painted with automotive paint and coated with an automotive clear coat. It features a vacuform body and electronics by GM Props. The hand scanner is all aluminum. It features over 80 LEDs, opening "ratchet" sound, authentic scanning sounds and a closing "ratchet" sound, which is not found in all hero built Tricorders. Furthermore, this Tricorder also has two unique additional sounds. When you press the "I" sense button, you hear an alert sound playing over the scanning sounds. Then, when you press the "E" sense button, the scanning stops, the alert sound plays 4 times and then you hear a "flatline" sound. The most unique part is the opening and closing "ratchet" sounds, which were created by me and programmed into the sound chip by GM Props. I never cared too much for the ratchet sounds used on these props, and so I decided to create ones of my own that are 100% closer to what you hear in the movies and shows. What's more, I made sure that the opening ratchet sound is DIFFERENT from the closing sound. Before, the closing sound was just the opening sound played again. I installed a hidden magnet that draws the flip door in when you close it and also prevents it from swinging open when you turn the Tricorder upside down. Last, the hand scanner electronics were also custom made for me to feature a unique combination of colored LEDs. The top LED is RED while the rotating LEDs are BLUE.

  • @erik814u2 How much would you sell this one for. I know these are pricey, but love to have one one day. Just wanted to know how much you sell them for. Thank you.

  • Impressive!

  • That's the one from Voyager right? Anyways, that's really cool, you should try making ships(Voyager, Enterprises, and maybe even DS9).

  • very cool :-)

  • @eviltig Next time you see one up for sale on eBay by another prop maker, take a closer look at the tilte...you will see the word "Hero" in there if it is a "functioning" prop.

  • @erik814u2 Pretty much. the prop replica sites I go too call them working or functional props.
