I differ in opinion! I say Zouk is very heavy on the bass. Its deep. When you're in the club and the zouk love come on, one can easily believe the floor is about to open and swallow everyone. Those bass lines are so deep and heavy when you dance zouk, folks are falling in love with each other right there on the dance floor.

Just because the song is sung by Eddy Miath and is from Guadeloupe does not make it zouk. Zouk is not bass and drum driven. Reggae is. This song is as well. Last time I checked there was/is a formula to a Zouk beat. This does not follow that formula at all. I personally would not call it Reggae, but it does have a Reggae vibe to it. So I can understand someone saying that it's reggae.
