Pilot: Tom Rigg
Instructor: Steve Hetherington

Once we landed in the confined area, we need to check the area out to make sure we aren't going to hit anything on the way out. We adopt a 4ft hover, then fly sideways into an area we know is clear.

Once we've moved more than a tail booms length, we left turn about the helicopter nose As we've just traversed this area we guarantee the tail boom is clear when we turn, we do it again one more time and that turns us round 180 degrees.

We then 4ft hover down the area to create room to take off.
