My current motorcycle, the Honda SLR 650. A RFVC 4-valve 644cc single cylinder powers this monster! Big singles may not be high on horsepower but they make up for it in surging torque. In fact this bike makes 55Nm (40.6 lb-ft) of torque which is almost as much as the Ferrari-beating Yamaha R6! The best part of this engine design is that the torque peaks at a very usable 4,500rpms so there is no need to wait for the motor to spin up for brutal acceleration.

  • Dude do you know the arrangement of the valves.;

  • @Stathis193 Hi, the valves are arranged 'radially' which is why it has RFVC on the engine, radial four valve construction (or chamber or something I can't remember. ) They sound slightly rattly in your video and they may need tightened slightly.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • very nice yellow monster:) ... I have a '01 dominator with the same engine .. low consumption, reliability, power.. ideal dual purpose bike :)

  • @Petrziczek Hi mate!

    The Dominator is a great bike and as you say almost the exact same. I was going to buy either the Dominator or the SLR, but the SLR was cheaper to buy as it is less well known. I wanted one of these bikes for the reliability which is legendary.

    Thanks for commenting and happy riding! ;)

    Its good to see videos of the bike before I bought it. I've cleaned her up a tad now since the last fella made a mess of her. The bike's a bit sluggish starting but when warmed up is fine, it's now got trailly tyres fitted which makes it a little unstable above 65mph but I'm getting used to that. I'd love to get hold of an owners handbook for it, so if anyone has one let me know. Cheers Ian

  • big cc bikes not having much HP ? my tuned (same engine as yours "rfvc" makes around 75hp , and a shitload of torque , they might not have it stock , but they sure are capable of ;)
