Dring water and nothing but water. If you need to take salt pills to keep you thirsty. You gotta drink so much cold water till you cant drink anymore. Also, when your not doing anything, loosen up your clothes and stay cool. Thats about all you can do. If you absolutely need to, bring modern equipment to keep you cool. All the summer fighting is about keeping cool. But like I said before, Drink water and nothing else. well coffee is ok, but other then that, water.

too bad we lost taht battle the one in richmond ky was the most decisive confederate victory ever and right here on ky soil!

Dismounted Cavalry is not allowed to attend the 150th Perryville reenactment. So if you are Cav and planning on going and do not have a horse, you can either not go or go as infantry. Personally, I think this is a stupid idea since a large part of the battle was fought dismounted. Th planners will piss a lot of people off by this. Especially since they allowed dismounted cav in the past.

I'll be attending this year and next year for the 150th. Can anybody get that close to the battle or do you need special permission? I really want to do some cool videography and photography of the battle.

You usually have to pay an admission price but anyone is free to attend most reenactments. There are very few non spectator reenactments.

Just curious are you in the 1st Arkansas Battalion? Cumberland Guard is a Federal Reenacting Battalion that crw is referring to.
