Actually the original comic the movie was based on was actually more horror based. The Mask had the same kind of cartooney powers but was more like Freddy Kruger in terms of personality.

@inferno663 idk. I liek the comicbook version better. For some reason I like the anti-hero more so then the hero. Although I love this film and is in my top favorite films.

Weren't the comics of the mask originally a lot darker then the film?

yeah dark horse comics made them. i have some of the comics. but i prefer the jim carrey version
