Flying off the ice

Playing on Chautauqua lake in frozen western NY. Ben and I hit the lake around 3 PM, but we had a few issues getting the motors to run it the single digit temps. I made a tool run to the local AutoZone and Aviation supply. Soon we had everything running. The ice was 4-5 inches thick, with a 8-10 layer of slush on top of that, then a thin crust and 8-10 of powdery snow. Challenging conditions at best.
We both had great flights (Ben had 2)

Congrats! Nice vid of the real Ups and Downs of PPG. sometimes its 1hr of pissing around for 15minutes of flying....Always Worth It !!!
