The Patience Stone...Created by Patrick McShane (PadraigMacSeain, stage name for YouTube). I was given a single chance to create this Bi-Directional, Bi-Conical, and Bi-Lateral hole through this 1 kilogram piece of Great Basin Basalt Stone using a baseball-sized piece of Quartz Stone. The hole that you see in the video clip is the results of this task, a process by which I learned the true concept of Patience. FAILURE was one of two possible results with success being the other. I was not allowed to break the Basalt Stone in any way, shape, or form. It had to be a hole, nothing more or less. I could use the same piece of Quartz Stone and should it break so that I could no longer peck at the Basalt Stone with it, I had failed the task. I had from Sunrise to Sunset, no more time than that. Once I started pecking away at the Basalt Stone I was not allowed to stop pecking. I was not allowed to take a nature break. I was not allowed to speak to anyone, especially to the Shoshone Shawman who was mentoring me at this task, asking for clarification. I was not allowed to be aware of anything around me with the exception of the Sounds of Nature and the Sounds of Pecking that were coming from the collision between the harder Quartz Stone and the softer Basalt Stone. FEAR of FAILURE was my constant companion.
