mate i dont think sayin abu baker was da greatest muslim after our prophet pbuh,i tink ali is,becoz ali was bought up my the beloved prophet (saw)he taught him everyting he knew,ali was da 1st to accept islam,he a warrior on da battlefield,remember what da prophet pbuh said,iam da city of knowledge and ali is the gate,those who wish to enter thecity must come to its gate,and also angel jibril,there is no youth like ali and no sword like zulfiqar,i just thinky ou need to some proper research mate

Yes and Sayyedina Ali(ra) was born in the house of Allah(swt), It is reported that he saw the face of sayyedina Muhammad(saw) as soon as he opened his eyes and that he(saw) placed his blessed saliva upon the lips of Ali(ra). Having said this Abu Bakr(ra) has a status amongst the sahaba like none other. Lets not quote one hadith and talk about research, You beleive what you believe, i beleive based on evidence and the majority of the ummah.

Our blessed messenger peace be upon him said of Imam Ali Ibni Abu Talib on whom be peace: I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate'. Ali was the premier metaphysician and warrior of Islam. I do not know that calling Abu Bakr the 2nd greatest person to have ever lived is justified. It smacks of high hyperbole and sentimentality. Thank you, salam.

There is no doubt, the wisdom and knowledge of sayyedina Al(ra) was amazing. Ive just read imam Suyuti's 'history of the four caliphs' and Ali(ra) deserves nothing but admiration. I believe Abu Bakr(ra) was the second greatest muslim based on the words of the prophet (saw) himself. But then you would not agree with those sources so its a pointless argument. He was the second greatest from this ummah, not person. The messengers and prophets of Allah where greater than the sahaba.

Because it is a fact. Because the prophet (saw) said that if the emaan of the whole ummah was to be put on one side of a scale and the emaan of Abu Bakr(ra) was to be put on the other, the emaan of Abu Bakr would outweigh the emaan of the whole ummah. This aswell as many other statements make it clear, and there is no reason to believe otherwise.

@najflex its sad to see some Shia Brothers geting some false info by their leaders, to correct u about the 1st man to accepte Islam it not our beloved Ali, but its Abu Bakr.

at our Prophet time the man who was chosen to lead al-Haj was Abu Bakr.

The man who was chosen to lead the prayer at the place of Our prophet when he was ill was Abu Bakr (in Both cases its our Prophet who choose him), he was called al-Sidiq by our prophet

lets not make diff between the 4 caliphs and love them all
