Several groups from around New Port Richey came together to form the New Port Richey community garden. Watch the step by step action as we install the garden to learn how to make your very own community garden. We used cardboard to block the weeds, some mulch, a layer of seaweed from local beaches, then more mulch. Finally to plant the plants we sifted the mulch with a mechanical soil sifter and used the fine soil as our planting bed. We used soil blocks for our starter plants. We planted kale, chard, lettuce, broccoli, onions, and more!

  • Here's the part where folks come in to see what the hubbub is about in a town that is under 5 sq mi in size and what they managed to take care of, and start taking this out to open lots around the world. Theoretically. Much Thanks for sharing the snapshots!
