having a grand father in law who survived d-day, there is nothing to admire about the war or any war for that matter..be intrigued about learning about it yes, but people say "i wish i lived it" try saying that to one single person who survived it.. talk to them for 5 minutes, it will change your mind real fast.

@tamithomas hope fully you're not aiming such a comment towards me. I've had my share of both current war operations and as a matter of fact still am. Obviously i could never compare with what happened on D-day, but every war is different and unique is its on gruesome way. and there is a major difference between being drafted and actually volunteering. One may enjoy war, its a addicting drug, why do you think war video games are so popular, they are not real, but the simulation is intriguing
