@nanom900 He did team up with the Akatsuki with the other members of Taka after he killed Itachi. He worked together with them and captured Hachibi no Jinchuriki, though it turned out to be an octopus leg of Bee's Hachibi transformation when the Biju was being extracted from Bee's body, and he escaped. Because of that failure, Sasuke and the rest of Taka were later assinged to a mission to attack the Five Kage Summit by Madara.
