Me and the "Mattseer Prangschützenmusik" playing one of the oldest marches known in Austrian tradition, the "Sensenschmied-Marsch" (1537).
The combination of fifes & drums and bagpipes has been known in the Austrian empire and particularly in Bohemia, where this formation was documented until the 19th century.
The usage of bagpipes in the Austrian army continued much longer, by the way. The last "imperial and royal" bagpiper served in the infantry regiment Nr. 11 "August King of Saxony" during the First World War.
The bagpipe is a Egerland model by Master Pavel Cíp in A major.
Just to let you know how much we appreciate your music and talent, I used this piece this weekend for a rennaissance German Marsch at our local Grand Pageant's Fall Ball!
