Your modeling and lighting are pretty good, and I like the character design.
You need more cuts. At around 1:28 when the sign falls on the lizard's head, you just linger on the shot as he stands up, and thinks through to another idea, and then executes it. We should be seeing this character's FACE as he is thinking of what to do, not his back. Cut to a close up of him when he thinks, and THEN go back to the wide shot of him jumping for the doorknob.
