This video is a brief overview of the 2603/2, 2604 cross cut, and 2604 strip cut from Whitaker Brothers. They all happen to have the identical casing but with different heads so they're essentially the same machine. The 2603/2 is NSA approved for high security data destruction and meets or exceeds specification 02-01. It can also be found on the NSA evaluated product list. Can I shred CDs with my Whitaker/Destroyit 2603/2 SMC?

@aroziify
The cutting heads of a high security shredder are so delicate, you can't even put a staple or paper clip through them. So the answer is no. However if you wanted to shred CD's to an NSA approved level, check out the Datastroyer 101-CD and the Datastroyer 103-DVD. Those will do the trick!

We're shopping for a shredder and I've looked at a couple of your videos. What's the difference between high security and crosscutting? Aren't they the same thing?

High security is an extremely fine crosscut. It's also called "level 6" or "NSA approved" sometimes. Government agencies and government contractors working on certain projects are to use them. Definitely not made for shredding stuff at home!

Feel free to post any questions you might have on the 2603/2 or the 2604! I'll check back from time to time and answer them.
