Pachelbel - Canon in D Major (Piano - Orchestra - Complete Version)

Since all piano version of Pachelbel' Canon is somewhat altered, a bit modern, or this Galloway, Wallace, or whatever version that is completely different with the string quartet version (very often my fav part is missing :s), I uploaded this piano version of Canon in D Major which is pretty close to the original baroque-ish string quartet . . .

I try to play all the 3 violins part and the bass one, but since I only have 10 fingers, some part are very hard to play in the right note, so I tranpose it either one octave higher or lower.

The funny thing about this version is that if you listen carefully every repeated melodies are always one octave lower. That's probably why the fingering doesn't crash very often.

Some bass melodies are impossible to play, I guess I need a third hand for that.

Yep the tempo is a bit "fast" here because the convention in the Baroque era would have been to play a piece of this type in the moderate to fast tempo. It's only during the 20th and 21st century that people started to play it very slow (which is amazing as well).

My tape recorder is OK ( a top uptodate ROLAND ). May be I could still improve the sound adding a sound mixer and a couple of SHURE mics, as my friend Philippe ( hipfeel YT channel ) suggested me.

@jelloakasire Yeah, everyone swear by G winston version which I dont really like, We can see version out there from 3 minutes to 9 minutes, 3 min is really fast or incomplete and 9 minutes is simply a pain to listen too This version does recreate the original canon very well on the piano.

Best version out there! Canon is sooo pointless without all three parts like where's the magic? And the style here is great!!! I've had enough of soft versions, nearly everyone plays Canon that way which I don't think Pachelbel wanted (not that it's bad, just too common). And it's complete :D Even more, it's a solo!!!

I wish I could play this so I could impress my music teacher, like someone below me wants to do. And ya know what I found out? This song, and many other classicals made my math grade go up from a 65 to an 80!! I listened to it everyday while doin homework and I got 25% faster(in math)!! It really soothes my agitation and relaxes me, to where I am able to actually think.
