Judged (for Judge:) at JD Muggs by ANGRYlaughter

For those who wanted to come but couldn't make it, here's us at JD Muggs.

Be gentle cuz I just picked up a bass for the first time in JAN-08. Hopefully this bass part I cooked up fits this original ANGRYlaughter song. AL isn't big into country songs but does play a variety of originals in diff genres plus covers. With Judge Fletcher on just before us and hearing him play and talking to him a bunch-o-times at Ballydoyle, Lisa had a sweet brainstorm to lead off with Judged and dedicate it to him.

Special thanks to Kyle from OdJo (and Mike who offered first but recruited Kyle) for sitting in as a guest drummer. He didn't know any of the songs so I could relate to his volunteering. :) Still I think he did a great job for whipping up some beats, fills and endings that jived pretty gol darn well with the band's interpretation of Roland's song...especially since Kyle said he doesn't have a country bone in his body. He survived a little country and his blues/rock/grunge bones survived for 3 other songs in the open mic set.

I added a min or so of non-music in case someone wonders about open mics or the gracious hosts and other acts like Judge. There was a huge range from the big X-squad male rapping+female dancing squads which have performed on TV to acoustic and electric soloists and everything in between.

Look for more youtubes from this evening. I'm used to being on the other side of the camera but here I just sat it down on the table and hit record, hoped it was aimed at something and grabbed a bass. I think the audio and the video (by far) is better than the vid from the gig at North Beach where I made the dumb mistake of leaving the cam in a sub-zero truck overnight and trying to shoot in a venue with beach volleyball. I wish I could pan/zoom from the stage so work on that if you're a vid whiz! :)
