ジムリーダー ヤナギ

Gym Leader: Pryce/Yanagi the Ice master.

This video will show you a tutorial on the Mahogany Town Gym.

First off, heal your pokemon and buy a lot of items from the pokemon center and pokemart. Then you want to choose the best type to match up against the type of pokemon in the gym. For this gym, the type is concentrated on ice. I recommend not to use grass type, however, this gym has a lot of mixture of both water and ice type pokemon. Be sure to bring in a grass type to counter those water moves. Another good choice would be fire and fighting type. These will become handy throughout your gym challenge.

As we move forward, I want to mention that if you have Diamond or Pearl, this is similar to Candice or Suzuna gym style. It will be a sliding motion. The method is you want to try to slide yourself into those ice pellets and smash into them so that they are move to the direction you want to. This will clear up the blockade from the ice pellets. As you move around, you notice trainers, there are three levels of this gym. The first being a practice of movement, the second is focus on your battling skill against ice type pokemon, and finally, the third level which has several strong opponents to improve your experience against high level ice pokemon and get you ready for the battle against the gym leader.

Once you solve that gym puzzle, all you have to do is battle the gym leader Pryce. Pryce is from second generation, and he maybe either very hard or very easy to some of you. So get ready and battle! Once you finish the battle, Pryce will give you the Glacier Badge and a TM known as Hail. So good luck with your match!

Here are a few tips:

Pryce/Yanagi Pokemon

Seel - Level 30
Type: Water
Ability: Unknown
Item: None
Moves: Icy Wind, Snore, Rest, Hail

Dewong - Level 32
Type: Water/Ice
Ability: Thick Fat
Item: None
Moves: Rest, Aurora Beam, Sleep Talk, Ice Shard

Piloswine - Level 34
Type: Ground/Ice
Ability: Snow Cloak
Items: Sitrus Berry
Moves: Hail, Blizzard, Mud Bomb, Ice Fang

Pryce should start off with a Seel and it is NOT an ice type, so if you have a grass type like me, you should be able to defeat it with no problem.

Next would be either Piloswine or Dewong, however, if you choose a fire type pokemon to beat Seel, Piloswine will be send out to counter your fire type pokemon with mud bomb and it is also a ground pokemon so be careful.

Finally, his deadly Dewong is next. Dewong has a high defense, so use a lot of special attacks as much as possible. It has the annoying rest and sleep talk so beware. Recommendation for a counter of this would be fighting type, try to not use fire type, since fire moves will have normal effects against Dewong.

That's all for now, thanks for watching, be sure to subscribe, rate, and comment. If you have any question, send me a message or comment below. My friend DragonairDream and her channel has a lot of great walkthroughs on Pokemon Platinum and Pokemon Black if you are interested in viewing.
