Soundwave vs Dollansky

Soundwave vs Steven Dollansky in the University of Alberta's Students' Union elections 2007. Soundwave was a joke candidate for the position of VP External (the communications dept of the SU).

The costume is mine that I made for Halloween, but it's all broken now. Ashley Yu taped the whole thing, and the voice is done by Adam Blinov... The sound was pretty bad in the theatre. But look! I'll even throw in a bonus.. Some subtitles for Soundwave! :D

Oh, and the moderator, Rachel, at the end says "Please don't shed blood on the stage..."

Although, this is a really awesome idea. Soundwave doesn't move like that... like at all. It's like to a point of I'm annoyed and want to kill you because you obviously haven't seen the cartoon, yet you're trying to imitate one of the coolest 80s cartoon characters ever? Soundwave doesn't put his hands on his hips, point at people, or even stand like that. He's a soldier, not a carnival ringmaster. but maybe that's what happens when someone runs for office? they start moving like a politician.

I guess it would have been more accurate if I just stood there, all stiff and boring. The majority of the people watching, who aren't die hard fans, would have really enjoyed that.

Was there an update on who won? I am sure soundwave wouldn't actually be allowed to win but I wonder who received the most votes.

Yeah, you're right, Soundwave wouldn't be allowed to win. But we did manage to scrape up 26% of the votes. That is solely based on posters and this speech. It doesn't seem like a whole lot, but Dollansky got ~60%, who actually ran a full campaign (more speeches, debates, etc)
