Sir Ralph Richardson was well known as a great Shakespearean actor (especially as Falstaff in Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2) and appeared in numerous films, such as The Heiress, Long Day's Journey into Night, The Fallen Idol, The Citadel, Doctor Zhivago, The Wrong Box, and The Four Feathers.
His fellow English actor Paul Scofield was also well received on stage and screen. He is most famous for his Oscar winning role as Sir Thomas Moore in A Man for All Seasons. He also appeared in Male of the Species, King Lear, Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, The Crucible, and Quiz Show, for which he received a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination.
