This is an oral history interview of a long-time resident of Manchester, John Suber (since 1957). Manchester is an urban neighborhood on Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania's North Side. The interview was conducted by Kenneth Harriston, a student at the Manchester Academic Charter School. His social studies teacher is Dennis Henderson.

  • omg the memories. I grew up in Manchester - between Ridge Ave & Reedsdale St. Went to Conroy school between 1961 & 1967

  • I hated the racism, I never understood it, I still don't understand it.

    I keep praying that it'll get better.

    I remember the discipline for being disrespectful as well, it was a different time, we need to get back to teaching our kids to be respectful of one another
