I managed to film Matt's awesome solo from invincible! my camera only films for 30 seconds unfortunately, but i got the bit that counts!!

Yeah there are definitely more intricate solos out there from many other bands - most experienced guitarists can play a more complicated solo than this one, but i've yet to find a guitarist who can write a song as well as Matt Bellamy can! Plus the effects make up for the lack of shredding, where else do you get this kind of awesome sound? :P

@AktivityNow what many of you are trying to say is. he's a great musician, he takes a great deal out of what he can do... all im saying is i refuse to put him at the top of the guitar player pyramid. compared to people like srv, hendrix, hetfield, mustaine, page, and a list that i can go on with for hours. he's got nothing, is not, and will never be on their level. fact

@rmarino4471, I agree with much of what you have said but being the greatest doesn't always mean playing the fastest or something of that nature. I agree that Matt isn't the greatest guitarist ever, and he himself would clearly admit that too, but he does put a lot of passion into his work that is hard to find these days. He doesn't always play insanely fast, but he always plays with passion. That's what makes him great, not the greatest but great nonetheless.

@Steamboat12002 I'll take soul over skill any day. As the poster already pointed it, it's not the best solo in the world. But it does it's job, i.e. a focal point of the song that the crowd can go wild at. And when this solo is played live, the crowd can't get enough. So much better than a slow, 2 minute long solo that the crowd can go "Oh yeah, that was quite nice" at.
