I understand what your fiend means! When I was a student in the US, one of the main reasons to have a car was in order to date. Here that is absolutely not necessary (although cars are still good for two people to take a trip in). As for the logistics of car-less Tokyo single life, we won't go into that! :) - LHS

Ahhhh the simple life... Then I guess it's pretty much the same for people here and the US in terms of that issue.
