Hi Mark ,just wondering if you could settle a debate,I have a Canon EOS 550,one teacher told me to turn off AF and image stabiliser while using manual mode in the studio as it will damage the motor, whilst my other teacher says he's never heard of that, and insists its ok to use the camera in manual mode with those settings on,would like your advice as don't want to damage my camera ,thanks Lesley

Did anyone catch the difference between Rembrandt and closed loop?
-
what type of white balance did you use for these shots

The Butterfly light used with small softbox and reflector look the most flattering i think, but thats just personal taste. You say Butterfly lighting is best used for beauty and head shots, is it not possible to use it for full length standing poses?
Great tutorial, thanks for making it and sharing your expertise =o)

I read that closed loop and Rembrandt is the same, yet you show is 2 different styles. What is the difference?

Whats the best way to find a model that is as willing to give you the time to try all of this great stuff? (Short Of paying lots of Cash) I can barely find one to sit still at all let a lone for this long.
Thanks for the info.

@FloppyHatPhotos Try Model Mayhem (google it). You can start by shooting TFP (Time For Print) or TFCD (Time for CD). You get time from the model, the model gets prints or a CD. Helps both of you build your portfolio and nobody has to spend money.
