Hurtsboro Acting Police Chieft Arrested

An East Alabama police chief is out of jail tonight in Bullock County. Our news partner WTVM confirmed Hurtsboro acting police chief Marvin Christian was arrested over the weekend.

Union Springs Police Chief Clarance Wheeler says Christian is charged with one count of kidnapping in the first degree and domestic violence in the third degree.

More information is expected to be released Tuesday morning. Christian is out of jail on $21,000 bond.

Sarasota Deputies Suspended
The husband and wife cops failed a polygraph test.

Two Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies were suspended following a verbal argument that turned physical. An internal affairs report says Sgt. Robert Kiefer, and his wife, Sgt. Deborah Bowman-Kiefer, failed a lie detector test about the extent of the incident. Nobody was arrested following the dispute, that was witnessed by at least one person.
