We use 45 ACP for home defense because it's a subsonic round with LESS penetration. That way we don't accidentally shoot someone through a wall that wasn't an intended target. 9mm rounds are faster, produce more penetrating impact but are not recommended for home defense because of the greater risk of collateral damage. Also they don't have as much stopping power as the 45ACP. BTW I don't think you should shoot that close to your target...dangerous.

The search for the cheap home-made bullet proof vest. A phone book is not good enough. I wud like to try taking a phone book & soaking it in various things, letting it dry & then trying it. Like, get some slow-drying thin epoxy (maybe epoxy paint or thinned with acetone). Soak & saturate the phone book. Let dry & then give it some shots.

A 9mm may or may not expand when it encounters its target; But I GUARANTEE you that a .45ACP WILL NOT SHRINK! ;P

This means that 100% of the energy of the .45 acp is in the target, rather than some of it being wasted in the dirt behind the target after passing through it.

The .45 cal ball (unexpanded) makes a hole as big as a 9mm hollow point expanded.

If you get a .45 cal hollowpoint expanded it puts the 9mm.

The video is no good because the guy didn't even know or use the same ammo in each gun & show it to the camera.

If the .45 didn't go through the book why didn't he show us the slug which would have been in the book? Sure looks bogus to me.

it says that a .45 wont shoot through a book, however if you put a 9mm in someone's torso it'll make a little hole in each side, swap that out for a .45 hollow point and i wouldn't be surprised if you could get a hole the size of a grapefruit. .45 = man stopper, one shot, one kill.
