  • That is by far the best 2nd movement of that symphony. No one, even Karajan, comes close to the genius of Furtwängler, although i have to admit that karajan's version is the closest. However, the beauty and the passion, the temper and not to forget the soul of that recording ,set this version apart from all the others.Furtwängler was at the end of his life when he conducted that, the more impressive it is for me that the power in this version seems to be as gigantic as always

  • This music sounds so much better w/ith Vienna Philharmonic. Wonderful performance!!

  • Incredible!

  • @bierbaron6666 Oh, I wholeheartedly agree! This is the best!!! Beating Karajan's! I love this piece!

  • Thank yoy for Beethoven and for Furtwängler - Im bulgarian peasant - the Only genius is here --- Beethoven, Addiobelpassato and Furtwangler

  • Danke!

  • @gjmsjwv For me it's wonder: I call him Beethoven.

  • No wonder they called him the Beethovenist

  • It was his last concert with Vienna....
