Fly With Me- Chapter 54

Demi's POV

"Joe and I are going out," I say. "Call if you need anything," I close the door and we go downstairs and get in Joe's car.

After Joe pulls out and begins driving, nowhere in particular, I begin to talk.
"So, since you had to talk to your parents about me coming on tour, I guess they know I'm your girlfriend now," I say slowly. Joe nods, looking straight ahead.
"Yeah, they know," he says.
"Well, what do they think about it?" I ask nervously.
"They're both ecstatic. They already love you anyways," Joe says. I sigh loudly.
"Do Kevin or Nick know?" I ask.
"Demi," Joe says simply. "Everybody knows,"
"Everybody?" I gulp.
"Yes, and everyone is completely happy for us, there's no need to worry," Joe tells me.
"I guess you're right," I say.
"I've already told them all to not say anything to anyone. For right now, I'd like to live in peace," Joe says.
"I agree," I nod.
"Are you gonna call your mom?" Joe asks me.
"Sure, why not?" I sigh and pull out my iPhone and dial my mom's number.
"Hello?" my mom asks.
"Hey, it's me," I say.
"Oh, Demi, hi," she says.
"Why did you want me to call you?" I ask her.
"Well, Maddie and your Step-Dad Eddie are coming up on Tuesday," my mom tells me. "And I talked to Denise recently,"
"Ooooh, what'd she say?" I ask nervously.
"Well, she told me that you and Joe are together now and very happy," I nod. "She also said you're going on tour with them," my mom said. There was a long pause. "Why, Demi? You just finished your own tour. Your sister and Step-Dad are coming and Dallas is going to have her baby," my mom lists.
"Well, I'm not leaving until Dallas has her baby, so I'll have time with Maddie and Eddie. My summer will be nothing if I don't go on this tour, Mom," I explain.
"But isn't that what you want? A break? You'll be starting work on Camp Rock 2 right after the boys' tour ends. Wouldn't you want to relax?" my mom asks.
"No, Mom, I don't. I don't know what I'd do with my life. And it's not like I am performing every night. I can relax during the day, Mom," I say, realizing the truth in my own words.
"If you say so, Demi. I guess I can't stop you," my mom says.
"Thank you," I tell her. She sighs.
"So, what are you up to?" she asks.
"Just going for a drive," I say.
"You can't drive, Demi," she tells me.
"I'm with Joe, Mom,"
"Oh, shouldn't he be busy with tour prep or something," my mom asks.
"He's done. Look, unless you've got anything important to tell me or ask me, I'm gonna go," I tell her.
"Okay, bye," she says.
"Bye," I hang up. Joe glances at me through his sunglasses.
"What's up?" he asks.
"Just asking about tour stuff," I say. "I don't think she wants me to go,"
"Too bad, you're coming and that's final," Joe says sternly. I laugh lightly and shake my head. I see him flash a smile.
"Lets go back to my house," I tell him. He nods and drives the way back.

Joe's POV

Demi comes over to spend the night at my place tonight. We're leaving really early in the morning and dropping Demi off at home on our way to the airport. The night goes by too quickly; my family laughing at the dinner table. Demi and I talking till 11:30 and finally falling asleep. We're woken up at 4:30 to get ready to go. As I'm slowly pulling some jeans on, I look at Demi who is still lying in my bed. She's smiling at me, one of her hands in her messy hair. I grab one of my button-down flannel shirts and I walk over to the bed. Demi sits up as I sit down. I hold out my shirt to her and she pulls it on and buttons it up over her bra. I kiss her forehead lightly. Demi crawls out of bed and pulls a black high-waisted skirt out of her bag. She pulls it on and tucks my flannel shirt into it. I pull on a t-shirt and we each continue to get ready. We don't say much to each other, both of us knowing well be leaving each other for who knows how long......
