Yes he was.

And BB was on steroids but taken off. The horse was rank in the Belmont and the shoe was a factor. He came back to win the last of his races.

The trainer of Brown said- to the press- that he wasn't using a special steriod in the Belmont that he had used in the previous two races, name that escapes me, that makes him run faster. Brown was overrated- he was an enhanced racer- the others were in it, he obviously wasn't. Without those steriods, Big Brown was just a hope to have another Triple Crown winner. It wasn't the weather either- all the horses had to run in it. But watch Da tara, he looks like a better War Pass.

Big Brown was little more than the result of Rick Drugtows steroid and juiceman practices. He was loaded on steroids for the 1st 2 legs of the TC and Drugtow admitted he took him off of them for the Belmont. Drugtow has a confirmed 68 recorded medication violations in his career at 15 different tracks. The International Racing Commission has asked the NYRA to permanently ban him. They will likely not do it because they dont care about racings integrity any more LOL

If people want to talk about a fluke horse it's Da Tara. He has only won one Grade 1 and that was the Belmont.

Yes I do know for a fact that Big Brown was on a steroid. His trainer said that he was when he announced that he took Brown off them to prove that he was worth his salt in the Belmont and big surprise, he lost (pathetically). Certain "medications" are legal in horse racing and there was some buzz about whether Brown was the one winning and not the meds, after some review the medication Brown ran on are now illegal in the Kentucky Derby, they said as much in the 09 post race coverage.
