Caleb,
I also have type 1 diabetes, and I am thinking about moving to the omnipod, and now that I watched you I know I can do it. We will find a cure, and we are all in this together! Kids with diabetes are the coolest :)

My son is 8 years old and was just diagnosed a week ago. We were very scared to hear this, but at least we now know why he was having mood swings and know now why he wouldn't gain weight. What kind of diet works best for you guys. these little guys are my HERO'S

@lsisto1 I see. I was just wondering since it seems like a lot to do and more painful than just using his fingers. I like the expression on his face when he's prepping his arm. It's really cute. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and good luck with everything. Thank you for answering so quickly!

@Pitterbolt Thanks for your kind comments about Caleb. He's moved on to his fingers. He's been checking the digits for years now. We all look back at the Ninja slap and laugh. It's always sortof startled anyone who has seen it, including us. At the time he didn't have the proper dexterity or strength or whatever to just rub the skin to get the blood flowing. That all seems so long ago!

Great job Caleb.
Does he do the shot on his arm because he wants to? Because my friend does it on her finger and I do to

@216baylee Yes. Caleb used to do alternate site testing on his arm as a preference. It was easier for him and he felt that pricking his fingers was more painful. He has been using his fingers exclusively for about 3 years now. And I his toes when he's sleeping at night.

I'm only 15 years old, I've been diabetic for 13 and a half years and have just started the pump, i'm on the One Touch Animas Ping.. I love it, I feel it's so much easier to not have to worry about pulling out a needle and vial of insulin when i'm out with friends. I now just pull out my pump (which could be confused as a phone) and bolus. The pump makes Diabetes so much easier to live with being a 15 year old girl. Keep that brave little smile up Caleb!(:
