The Yanks had moved wrestling foreward,Japan was very much a happening place,Mark Rocco had some good runs overseas Naggers was a flop in the states one Billy Robinson contest comes to mind where naggers left the ring via the 3rd row.
Still great days
Thanks for uploading this classic match
if you type in the british wrestlers reunion on google / see whats happened to the stars of british wrestling
as TV coverage for UK, Wrerstling came to an end in 1988 , maybe the the UK promoters , DALE MARTIN/ALL STAR, should have gone over to NO ROUNDS type contests, maybe not this bout, but other matches,,,even NAGASAKI spokesman GILLETTE, mentions something about "NAGASAKI would conquer USA next .......
Wayne Bridges was one of the top heavyweights and he also had a good championship run.
Haystacks has held the belt ( i believe)
Big Daddy and Haystacks only took part in squash matches,Never champions though.
King kendo was brought in to the public
eye as a result of the real kendo unable to wrestle due to blackout problems / or being an ass with his demands i am unsure / one or the other though,
To me Kendo was already world champion even before he beat Bridges, Bridges was a very unlikely world champion anyway, I would have thought that Big Daddy or Giant Haystacks could have beaten him too, it's obvious why Kendo didn't get it before, it's because his identity was unknown and anyone could in theory wrestle as "Kendo", in fact, someone did try to sort of impersonate him for a while, they called themselves "King Kendo" he made the real Kendo look stupid because some thought it was him.
@proff180 king kendo was Rex Strong the blackpool heavyweight
